SUMMARY : The main function of this position is to operate and maintain milling equipment in your assigned area at its maximum operating efficiency, operate and adjust machines according to customer specifications, perform light maintenance on machines as needed, and to keep work area clean. Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.: Check VTA VBS K40's to insure proper milling degree; replace worn or broken parts in VTA VBS K40's; clean and rotate VTA VBS K40's screens, to clean spouts at end of VTA VBS K40's belts; Keep shelling percentages at a workable level, to change rolls and hubs as needed; change or tighten belts as needed; turn down used rollers; keep feeders operating smoothly; Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in work area, take samples as assigned, analyze and record data on SPC control charts; effectively communicate with other personnel on their shift, work in other areas as assigned by supervisor, wear personal protection equipment as needed; work safely.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the job duties, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibrations. The noise level is loud.
