Job Description

SUMMARY : This position is responsible for general Supply Room activities which include: any activity related to receiving supplies, unloading trucks, storing the supplies received, cleaning of supply room, and making trips to suppliers to pick up supply items. This position is also responsible for a limited amount of: requisitioning, receiving, tracking Supply Room inventory using Riceland Foods, Inc. purchasing system. Communicating with vendors about pricing and delivery, assisting supply room customers and other departments in finding their needed supply items, filing necessary paperwork, answering the phone, ordering supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor. Make trips to vendors and suppliers to pick-up supplies. Assist supply room customers. Organizing and stocking supplies on stockroom shelves. A limited amount of ordering supplies, paper and computer work regarding ordering and receiving. Clerical duties (filing, typing, answering phones, cleaning the office). Assist supervisory staff with job tasks related to Purchasing/Supply Room operations. Perform all duties safely and with others' safety in mind. Will Load and unload supplies and equipment off delivery trucks using forklift and/or "Terex" all terrain forklift as needed. Must issue supplies from inventory using computer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Drivers License / Valid Forklift Operators License
