Job Description

SUMMARY : Perform miscellaneous sanitation, safety and maintenance duties in the maintenance and supply departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Supply and Maintenance areas as required by supervisor. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor. Sweep break room and clean bathroom once a day, thorough cleaning of break room and bathroom once a week, keep items posted in shop updated, in maintenance supervisor's absence, answer phone in office and electrical office and leave written messages, straighten upper storage area and keep it cleaned and organized, keep conduit rack straightened, keep grinders properly adjusted and area cleaned, clean shavings around drill press area, pick up metal behind shears and breaks, pick up materials around band saw and inside pipe racks, keep tool cage straightened on a daily basis, clear paint locker of trash and empty paint cans, stock welding rods and other accessories, empty trash barrels daily, patrol rodent traps once a week (all area), make runs for materials to area vendors when necessary. Sweep compressor room, assist with compressor duties, complete daily compressor charts and inspections, change air filters in compressor room, keep upper storage area cleaned and organized. Sweep supply rooms twice a week, clean bathroom daily, help put up stock when needed, assist in unloading trucks in supply and maintenance, keep project area organized, help with inventory counting, clean and organize shelves. Organize and clean storage area as needed in campbell building. Update inventory monthly. Assist in sanitation and safety inspections and corrections, perform minor maintenance tasks, painting, tool upkeep, etc., transport parts and supplies to project job sites as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Drivers License / Valid Forklift Operators License
