Job Description

Possess knowledge of operation and maintenance of 4000GST and 18000 Meyers driers. Possess knowledge of all rough rice drags and transfer capabilities. Maintain safe usage of grading equipment and maintain proper working conditions; ability to read and operate drier controls properly; ensure proper binning of rice. Greet and communicate with farmers and visitors and represent the company in a professional manner. Communicate well with others verbally and written; demonstrate good math skills using calculator; must be able to figure weighted averages. Maintain and complete all sanitation functions pertaining to work area and any other duties that may be assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Frequently exposed to high, precarious places. Must work at heights up to 75 feet and in confined spaces.

Work in dusty and noisy environment requiring the use of personal protection equipment. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Work in cold and hot weather; below 30 degrees and above 95 degrees. Will be exposed to outside weather and temperatures; extreme heat and vibration.

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to toxic or xaustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to stand for more than one hour per occurrence, walk up to 600 feet per occurrence, Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus; 20/40 vision or correctable to 20/40.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight, measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Duties

Operate grain handling equipment (augers/conveyors/grain elevator/broom)
setting up elevator leg positions (switching the distributor/swing flow to correct position/opening setting valves)
house keeping/cleaning (sweeping/shoveling/weed eating/mowing Etc.)
some light maintenance (Greasing bearings/changing light bulbs/assist plant foreman with repairs to equipment)
maintaining boot pits (keeping boot pits free of grain and water)
